FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Registration
1. How do I register for classes?
You must access registration through the U of I Integrate System at https://ui-integrate.apps.uillinois.edu/. Follow the links for UIUC. You must have an Enterprise account and password in order to access registration on-line. You can register for your Enterprise account following the instructions and links on the webpage mentioned above. All registration occurs online and is done by each individual student.
2. What is a CRN?
A CRN is a 5-digit course registration number. You can access a list of course numbers through the Enterprise system once on the registration main menu.
3. How do I register for an Independent Study or Honors Thesis Hours?
Each individual faculty member is assigned a list of personalized CRN numbers for their independent study courses (ie 399) and for Honors Thesis students (ie 391/495). Since an independent study and honors thesis work both require working directly with a faculty member, they must approve your request for those courses prior to registration and give you their personal CRN number.
4. Can the anthropology undergraduate advisor register me for a class that has already closed/full for registration?
NO. The undergraduate advisor can only advise you on the courses you should be taking to advance your progress towards your degree. There are no means by which s/he can "open up" or "create a spot" for a course that has already been closed.
5. Can a professor give me permission to register for a course that is already full?
MAYBE. The reason class numbers are restricted is due to the space available to accommodate students--ie desk space--and to keep discussion sections from over crowding. On some occasions a professor may give you permission to get an override on the registration for you to sign up. ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE OBTAINED WRITTEN VERIFICATION FROM THE PROFESSOR, you can come to 109 Davenport Hall Anthropology Department Office and speak to the undergraduate secretary for the necessary system override.
6. I got permission from a professor to add/drop a class after the registration date, but I cannot get the CRN to register on U of Integrate registration page. How do I register for class?
After the official registration date, a student can no longer login to the U of I Integrate System to add/drop a class. An Add/Drop form must be obtained from the undergraduate advisor and signed by the professor, advisor, and department representative. This form is then processed by LAS.
7. How do I register for Graduation?
When you register for your final semester of classes, your Major Plan of Study form has been turned in, and all of your major requirements are complete, you may register for graduation on the U of I Integrate System. Further details about graduation ceremonies can be obtained on the LAS website at http://www.las.uiuc.edu/students/graduation/
