Nokonofo Kitea: We Keep On Living This Way is book about traditional mythology and musical lyrics composed by islanders of West Futuna, Vanuatu as these narratives resonate with present interests and lifeways in the newly independent Republic of the southwest Pacfic. In this volume, co-authored with Takaronga Kuautonga, we present an inventory of songs and stories in two languages: West Futuna and English. We center these narratives within historical and ethnographic context and then develop their interpretive themes with reference both to past and present circumstances.
