In addition to the midterm exam, final exam, and Assignments 1 and 2, there will be six short quizzes in this course. We will use the best five quiz scores you earn on those six quizzes and these will account for a total of 25 percent (5 percent for each of 5 quizzes) of your final course grade. These quizzes will be administered online through the Compass course page. Each quiz will be available for you to take within a time period starting at 12:30 pm on a Thursday and ending at 5:00 pm on Friday (the next day).

Quizzes will be multiple choice format, with 5 to 10 questions, and you will be provided with a set amount of time within which to complete the quiz, with the clock starting when you log-on and begin taking it. Typically, somewhere between 20 to 30 minutes will be provided for completing each quiz, once you log-on and begin. These are open-book quizzes. However, each quiz has a limited time for completion, so you should be prepared before you start the quiz and not plan on reading up on the subjects for the first time as each question is presented during the quiz. No make-ups are provided for missed quizzes in the absence of documented and legitimate medical or family emergencies.

These quizzes will be given online on the following dates:

Quiz 1, Thursday, Jan. 27.

Quiz 2, Thursday, Feb. 10.

Quiz 3, Thursday, Feb. 24.

Quiz 4, Thursday, Mar. 10.

Quiz 5, Thursday, Apr. 7.

Quiz 6, Thursday, Apr. 21.
